easy use “back the plan” letter

Schools Future BackThePlan poster Colourwhether you are responding by email or by post, it’s now even easier to back the plan.

So that they can hear from the largest number of people possible Pembrokeshire County Council has agreed to accept responses in the form of a pre-written letter that we have prepared with space for you to add your own comments.

All you have to do is click on the link below, print it, fill in your details, sign it and send it.  Or copy and paste the same wording in an email to kate.evanhughes@pembrokeshire.gov.uk

The deadline is May 5th.  Here’s the letter in four handy formats!

“As part of the statutory consultation on the future of secondary education in mid and northwest Pembrokeshire I would like to state my support for the Schools for the Future community plan and  ……

….I feel that this part is particularly important

…..I think it would be improved by the following ideas

….. I particularly support the Fishguard/Haverfordwest focus document

Your email can be as short or as long as you want.   Give it the title:  Support for the Schools for the Future Plan.   Include your name and address,  and tell the Council your view.

Fishguard backs the plan

As the deadline for submissions to the council approaches – May 5th – we are now working closely with the Fishguard community to back the Schools for the Future plan as a way forward for both communities.  Representatives of the community have put together a Fishguard Community Focus page to tailor the main plan to the needs of Ysgol Bro Gwaun.  You can find the Fishguard “your child, your say” facebook page here  and make sure you write to the Council to express your views.  if you want to support the plan you could say:

the plan is ready – time to back it

After tremendous support at the final community meeting  – thank you to all who attended – the plan is ready.

It  provides a foundation on which excellent teaching can give our children the education they deserve.  It started life in St Davids, but much of it applies to Haverfordwest and Fishguard too, and it’s worth looking at the idea of P6 as an independent, multi-site 6th form college that could work  for all Pembrokeshire.

If you want to back the plan, now is the time to act.

The steering group for Schools for the Future is now working hard on a draft plan to put to the community.  All through schools, flexible 6th forms, distance learning,  community involvment and VA status are the elements we are working with.  So what’s your view?

Council shifts, community concern and the way forward

So here we are, solidly into the Public Consultation period on the Council’s plan for the future of our schools, and if you were there at St Davids City Hall on Monday March 23rd for the first of the Council’s public meetings, you will have heard that things have shifted a lot since January.
