the Schools for the Future campaign is a group of volunteers working on behalf of the St Davids peninsula community to fight for the best possible education for children across Pembrokeshire.
Pembrokeshire County Council has dropped a plan to close our school, Ysgol Dewi Sant, but they still propose to remove it’s 6th form, and the 6th forms in Fishguard and Haverfordwest, and bus our kids a 30 mile round trip to a centralised 6th form college. We’re not convinced that’s the best solution and we know it would make our school unsustainably small.
So we’ve been researching the best rural schools across the UK, finding the facts about government policy and finance, and drawing up an ambitious but realistic proposal to give 21st Century education to the children of rural Pembrokeshire.
That plan is now ready. Please like us, share us, subscribe, and back the plan.
